These Cessna 172 Aviation Information Manuals are original Manuals printed by Cessna. They are specific to your Model and Year and they include the same data and limitations contained in the original Manuals.
These Manuals are for Pilots’ use and are not substitutes for the FAA-approved Manuals that are specific to the serial numbered aircraft. Those must be ordered directly from the manufacturer. They include the actual weight of the specific aircraft and any equipment that was factory installed. These are generally available for aircraft manufactured 1979 and forward.
Cessna Manuals were produced using a number of different terms. In general, these are:
- 1946-1975: Cessna Aircraft Owner’s Manuals
- 1976-1978: Cessna Pilot’s Operating Handbooks (POHs)
- 1979 and Newer: Cessna Information Manuals
These simply reflect the differences in the way that Cessna named their Manuals. Please note that the price differences among the different Manuals reflect Cessna Production costs. For instance, during 1976-1978 many of the POHs were produced in three-ring hard-plastic binders. These cost more for Cessna to produce, and will therefore be more expensive than simple paper-bound books.
Don't be fooled by others' cheap Cessna 172 Manuals for years before 1979. These are not from Cessna and may be hard to read!
