About the Photographer:

Originally from Howell, Michigan, Barbara Murray is a San Diego, California-based photographer. She graduated from the University of Michigan with a degree in Medical Technology. She has lived in Switzerland, Oregon, and Guatemala, and settled in San Diego in 1978.

Barbara initially took flying lessons in order to overcome a fear of flying! A commercial pilot suggested that she learn to fly a General Aviation Aircraft in order develop a fundamental understanding of flight. She is currently working towards her private pilot license, and finds aerial photography helps her retain a mental image of San Diego geography and airspace.

She switched from 35mm to Digital photography in 2002 and has an extensive collection of Aerial and Aviation Photography.
