Marv Golden pioneered Mail-Order Aviation discounting in the pages of Trade-A-Plane in 1982 - 40 years ago! Prior to that, if you wanted Aviation Headsets, Portable Transceivers and other equipment you had to go to your local FBO and pay full retail!
Marv met with immediate success! In the early years, the business consisted of Marv and his wife Marjorie with part-time help from their sons Richard and Dan and other family members.
The business quickly grew and we established a Retail Store at Montgomery Field in San Diego in 1989. Dan joined the business full-time after a career in Marketing. Richard re-joined the business after his career in Retail and Information Technology.
As the business grew Marv (who is a U.S. Army veteran) felt strongly that staff for our store should include pilots and preferably retired Veterans of the U.S. Armed Forces. Today, we are proud to employ Pilots, CFIs and other Aviation Experts, including veterans from the U.S. Navy and Air Force.
Marv has always felt that our unique advantage in Aviation and Pilot Supplies is our dedication to customer service and providing value to our customers, especially since his name is on the door (and the website)!
Marv still often answers the phone when customers call, and his values have guided the growth of our business. Today, the business is still a family-run operation by Marv and both of his sons, Dan and Richard. The rest of our valued staff has been with us for many years and are critical to the quality service that we deliver.
